If your a guy with long hair I probably don't need to tell you that it does come with a fair amount of disapproval. The saying "boy if I had a nickle" couldn't be more appropriate. It is evident that people cannot accept that some guys have chosen to grow there hair long,It is extremely frustrating. They will come out with comments like "when you gonna cut your hair", "it's girly" and "boys shouldn't have long hair". What a contradicting society we have. We preach that we must accept people of all races, religions and sexuality but at the same time were quick enough to disprove of a guy simply because he let's his hair grow.
I've had people who are overweight criticize me for the length of my hair too, where is the logic in that?? It's ok to be fat and let your body go but a guy having long hair, ooooh throw the book at him. Ladies and gents if you are a Mother or Father and your son/daughter came home from school upset because people were bullying them for being different, would you say "oh why don't you try to be more like them and they will stop" or would you say "don't listen to them, you don't have to be like them. If they don't approve of you it's their problem"?? An easy question I'm sure but funnily enough it is parents who I have had the most criticism off of.
This society in terms of what "in" and "out" is extremely dumb. The trend is to look like everyone else, follow what the media portrays as "cool". That's right go out and spend all your money people because you wanna wear clothes that Joey Essex wears and act like the famous rich people who don't even know you or give two hoots about you. Let's not forget these very same people that will call you gay and girly just cause your hair is long are probably the kind of people who go to bed at night wearing the abominations they call "onezies". God if ever there was a reason to hate trends. I personally have expressed much hate towards these pathetic pajamas originally designed for babies. THIS is "in" people, need I say anymore. Long hair on guys is gay but dressing like an infant with pj's that have horns and a tail for crying out loud ooh go ahead eat with the jocks pal.
This Is not completely directed at the guys. Women although are expected to have long hair seem to cross a point where it is "too long" so guys gals get there fair share of comments. At a certain point this becomes "messy" and "lazy" .
I will say though, every time I get some extremely dumb, Illogical comment from some brainless follower it just makes me wanna grow it all the more. Fashion should be about self-expression not becoming a tool who just want's to fit in. (when no-one gives a dam anyway). Less face it though many people are stubborn till the end so why try and educate them. At least we can rant though so if you feel like letting off some steam or even worse your pulling your hair out here is the place to get that bee out your bonnet..
